My work has evolved after spending many years living in a rural area in southern Portugal. I have found walking daily in a natural landscape, abundant with so many different trees and plants at assorted stages of seasonal development, provoked important changes to how & what I wanted to paint. Such close access to  the seasonal evolution from bud to decay has concentrated my focus and visual response to the plentiful manifestations presented by this annual happening. I enjoy the challenge of working with a limited palette. Most of my paintings have been completed using only 2 of each primary colour.

Since completing a Natural History Illustration course in the 90's I have consistently painted, producing a diversity of commercial illustrations & private commissions. For the past 7 years I have focused almost entirely on Botanical Art.

I exhibit annually with the Society of Botanical Artists. September 2019 I was honoured to be awarded a Fellowship with them. 

2020 I was delighted to have had 2 of my paintings chosen for The Society of Women Artists & for one of those paintings was awarded the 'Great Art Award'.

In 2021 I exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery with the RHS. I was awarded a Gold medal for my exhibit of 6 paintings titled 'Seasonal Observations of a Pomegranate'. 

In 2023 I was awarded the 'St Cuthberts Mill Award' for watercolour painting at the Society of Botanical Artist exhibition. 

June this year I have 6 paintings in the exhibition at Saatchi Gallery for The RHS Art & Photography Show. I was awarded my 2nd Gold medal for my exhibit 'Magnolia Grandiflora from Bud to Desiccated Seedpod'. Later in the year I have a painting in The Hunt Institute's 17th International Exhibition in Pittsburgh, US. I'm honoured to have had this painted selected to join their permanent collection.

I've also had a painting selected for the 163rd annual Society of Women Artists exhibition at Mall Galleries. An achievment to be amongst so many talented & inspirational female artists.
