Nicki is drawn to the more expressive side of painting, whilst trying to be truthful to what she sees before her.  Her work frequently has a personal connection to her life and she often paint the people and places that are important to her.   

She loves the process and technical challenge of painting, she wants her work to be subtle and beautiful and have an inherent truthfulness about it.   

Nicki is a figurative painter based in Brighton, painting mainly from life.  She has a degree in Fine Art painting from Kingston University and has taught painting and drawing courses to adults in the past but now concentrates on making her own work.

She mainly paints from life with oils focusing on portraiture and still life but has recently started exploring painting the landscape outdoors. She is a member of the Paddock Road Studios in Lewes and the Brighton outdoor Painting group in Brighton.   

Nicki exhibits regularly at Brighton Open Houses as part of the Brighton Festival in May and Artwave in Lewes in August.  She has also exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Society of Women artists and the Sussex Contemporary.
