My work is very influenced by medieval manuscripts and I have been lucky enough to draw from some original manuscripts at the Parker Library, Corpus Christi in Cambridge. The characters in this painting are based on some of the drawings I have made. In the background is the lovely Round Church built around 1130 and situated in the centre of Cambridge.
