Tight Rope is one work in a new series exploring the balance of power, complexities, love and tensions in the child – mother relationship. Each composition is poised, with a sense of balance and reflection, a moment before or perhaps after an event. The softness of my colour palette emphasises a dreamlike impression with an aesthetic that feels intensely & intentionally feminine. This forms one of my most physical works to date with figures filling the space, not always directly interacting but side by side, almost in reach. Observing one another through the lens of slight detachment.
